What to expect from your treatment

Full consultation and risk assessment carried out for every client. My room is disinfected between each client and is well ventilated. All materials are washed at 60 degrees and i will continue to wear a face mask during facial work.

I would recommend you book your appointment when you have free time before and after so as not to un-do the deep relaxation you will feel after the treatment. Please bring your own water to drink before and after your treatment. It is recommended you wear loose comfortable clothing as your lower legs will also be massaged during your reflexology treatment.

On arrival

To give me ample time to disinfect areas, set up the treatment area and ensure parking is available, I would plan to arrive a few minutes before your appointment time. No need to knock on the door, please message me to let me know you have arrived. Your treatment will take place in a peaceful and tranquil environment and to ensure you are able to switch off from the outside world, please consider turning your phone off completely. To ensure the treatment plans meet your needs, I will carry out a thorough consultation covering health and lifestyle on your first appointment. Please note all information will be totally confidential in line with the Data Protection Act.

The reflexology treatment

During my many years in practice, I have seen hundreds of feet, all with different characteristics so there is no need to be concerned about the appearance of your feet. In privacy, you will need to remove your socks/tights and shoes and you can either roll up your trousers or, as most clients do, take off your trousers or skirt for extra comfort. Your feet will be gently cleansed with an organic antibacterial wash, a warming hot compress and massaged with a natural beeswax infused with aromatherapy oils, from the Songbird range. Reflexology uses a very specific firm pressure so those with ticklish feet will still enjoy the treatment. I also use hot stones and the warmth and pressure from the stones will penetrate and sooth the feet, promoting a deep sense of relaxation. As you lay on the heated couch you will notice the relaxing aroma of natural fragrant aromatherapy oils and the gentle music soothing your mind. This treatment is time for you, so please feel free to drift off.

The hot stone massage treatment

Each massage will be tailored to meet your needs and pressure and key tension areas will be agreed before the treatment starts. You will be left in privacy, to undress down to underwear, lay on the heated couch and cover yourself with a blanket. Only the areas being massaged will be revealed and towels and blankets will be used for warmth and modesty at all times. I also use hot stones during massage and the warmth and pressure from the stones will penetrate and sooth the muscle tension, promoting a deep sense of relaxation.

After the treatment

You will feel a sense of peace and inner calm and after you get dressed you are encouraged to have a drink of water. As reflexology and massage can make you thirsty, you are advised to drink a further 4- 5 glasses of water throughout the day to keep hydrated. Please also avoid alcohol and caffeine as this may result in dehydration and possible mild headaches.

How can I pay for the session? I accept cash or bank transfers.

What is your cancellation policy? Please be aware that I do charge in full for missed appointments if less than 24 hours notice given.

Please note: Reflexology or massage should not be used in place of medical care, always consult with your GP.
